GAPAN Scholarships

The Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators (GAPAN) has a range of scholarships available for 2012. These include two gliding scholarships (to be flown at Lasham in summer 2012) as well as PPL scholarships and various flying instructor and other bursaries. 

The aim of the Gliding Scholarships are to assist the successful individuals, who might otherwise not have the necessary resources, to achieve their British Gliding Association ‘A’ Certificate (First Solo) and the candidates will be expected to take the Bronze C examination (theory). The Scholarship will cover direct training (5 days), accommodation (5 nights) whilst training, and BGA ’A’ certificate application and examination costs. The costs of any associated travel and subsistence expenses are the responsibility of the Scholarship winner. Full details of the entry requirements are to be found onthe application form. Closing date for applications is 21 March 2012 and interviews will be held in London on Wednesday 2 May 2012.
